End-of-Year Celebration at SISOG: A Bilingual School in Geneva Filled with Music, Movement and Community

Music, movement, healthy food, circus fun and creativity came together for a joyful end-of-year celebration at SISOG, our boutique bilingual school in Geneva.

Although our primary school finished just over a week ago and our summer gathering took place in June, the memories are still very much with us. The event brought together parents, teachers, staff and students as one warm and connected SISOG community.

At SISOG, a bilingual school in Geneva rooted in international education and the Swedish curriculum, moments like these reflect everyday school life: multilingual learning, creativity, wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging.

“Play, Eat, PARTY!” A Celebration of Healthy Living

This year’s theme, chosen by our Primary School student government, was “Play, Eat, PARTY!” It captured the spirit of fun, movement and healthy living that runs through our school.

It also reflects our certification as a Generation Pep school, part of a Swedish initiative promoting active and healthy lifestyles for children. In line with the Swedish curriculum, SISOG places importance on physical activity and nutritious food as essential parts of learning, wellbeing and development.

A Multilingual Celebration: English, French and Swedish

The celebration highlighted the heart of our bilingual education in Geneva. We opened with I Love the Flowers, sung in English, French and Swedish, our three school languages.

Upper Primary students accompanied the performance on ukulele, bringing the whole school together through music. Later, Primary students and Nobel (our oldest preschool group) performed Let the Games Begin, a lively song about effort, ambition and joy in learning.

Our 4P students impressed with a recorder performance, while the after-school mindful group shared a beautiful song about emotions.

These moments reflect the Swedish curriculum’s focus on expression through music, language and creativity, helping children build confidence and communication skills in a natural and joyful way.

Circus Fun and Creative Expression

The whole school was entertained by Le Salto de l’Escargot, whose circus tricks and playful energy brought laughter and excitement to the day.

Our after-school art class also hosted a homemade photo booth, where visitors received hand-drawn portraits of themselves. It was a creative and personal highlight that reflected the imagination and individuality encouraged throughout SISOG life.

Community Appreciation and School Spirit

Our Principal and General Director, Lotta Bartosch, shared reflections on the school year and looked ahead to what is coming next.

The PTA also thanked staff with thoughtful handmade gifts filled with coffee and tea treats, a gesture warmly appreciated by the whole team.

At SISOG, strong relationships between families, teachers and staff are central to our international school community in Geneva.

An International Potluck in Geneva

The celebration ended with a vibrant international potluck, with families contributing dishes from around the world.

This shared meal reflected what SISOG truly is: a meeting place of cultures, languages and perspectives. As an international and bilingual school in Geneva, we are proud to bring families together in a community where diversity is lived every day.
